In October Mallorca has autumn with traces of summer. By day it is warm, and the sea still invites a swim. For rainfall, October is in second place behind November, spread over few days. So rain tends to be heavy rather than frequent.

On average over the years 2011 to 2025, the Palma de Mallorca CMT station reaches 25.1 °C by day and 17.6 °C at night in October. On 4.9 days at least 1 mm of rain falls, adding up to 63.1 mm in the month.

3Sea temperature in Mallorca in October

Off the Bay of Palma the sea averages 23.5 °C in October. In September it is 25.9 °C, in November 20.0 °C. Swimming is still pleasant on most days, and the water is warmer than in June.

The value comes from the NOAA OISST satellite analysis for open water off the bay, averaged over 2011 to 2025. In shallow coves and right at the beach the water can be warmer or colder.

4What to pack for Mallorca in October

For October you need summer clothing for the day and something warmer for the evening: jumper, light jacket, long trousers. Swimwear is still worth it. A rain jacket is a fixed part of your luggage this month, along with shoes that are allowed to get wet.

5Which activities suit the weather in October

• Beach: Quite possible on sunny days, the water is still warm.
• Boat trip: Lovely on calm days. Check weather and sea conditions at short notice.
• Hiking: Very good temperatures. After heavy rain, avoid paths and stream beds.
• Caves: The right choice on a rain day.
• City: Pleasantly warm, without summer heat.
