2The weather station for Can Pastilla is at the airport

The climate figures for Can Pastilla come from AEMET station B278 Palma de Mallorca, Aeropuerto, at 5 m above sea level. It carries the name of Son Sant Joan airport, whose grounds, according to Wikipedia, begin directly north of Can Pastilla. To the district it is 3.2 km in a straight line to the south-south-west. No place on Playa de Palma is closer to it: the forecast point on the beach is 4.8 km away, El Arenal 6.0 km.

The page on the weather in Palma uses a different station, the one in the harbour. Comparing the 2011 to 2025 averages, nights at the airport station are 3.2 to 4.2 degrees cooler than at the harbour in every month, and days in June, July and August are 1.2 to 1.5 degrees warmer. It is used for Can Pastilla because it is closer. Whether nights on the beach follow the airport or the harbour, neither station measures.

4Sea temperature in Can Pastilla in winter and spring

In January the sea off Can Pastilla averages 15.4 °C. It reaches its lowest value in February at 14.5 °C, and in March it is barely more at 14.7 °C. After that the water warms up, to 16.3 °C in April and 18.9 °C in May.

5Can Pastilla at the western end of Playa de Palma

Can Pastilla is a district of Palma within the Platja de Palma district. According to Wikipedia it was built between 1920 and 1925 as a suburb of the city. In Catalan it is also known as Sant Antoni de la Platja, and the foundation stone of the parish church was laid in 1927.

This is where the balneario count starts, with number 15. The protected area of Es Carnatge separates Can Pastilla from Coll d'en Rabassa, and the Ses Fontanelles wetland separates it from the Les Meravelles district. Off Ses Fontanelles, according to the Catalan Wikipedia, the remains of a Roman ship that sank about 1,700 years ago were found in 2019. The Club Marítimo San Antonio de la Playa, with its own marina, was founded in 1934 according to the Spanish Wikipedia.
