A real weather forecast for Mallorca covers around 9 to 10 days. For days 11 to 16, this page shows what was usual on those calendar days in past years, and labels it as such.

## In short

For Mallorca, a dependable weather forecast exists for around 9 to 10 days. Here it comes from MET Norway and applies to Palma. Days 11 to 16 are not a forecast: they show average values for the years 2011 to 2025 for each date, measured at the Palma Puerto station. They show what is usual, not what is coming.

## Key points

- The live forecast for Palma de Mallorca covers around 9 to 10 days.
- The source of the forecast is MET Norway, Locationforecast 2.0 service.
- Days 11 to 16 show averages for the years 2011 to 2025 and are labelled as such.
- An average tells you what is usual on a date, not what your travel day will be like.
- If the forecast fails, a notice appears instead of substitute figures.

## Forecast for Palma de Mallorca, day by day

Each row stands for one calendar day in local time. The high and the low are the warmest and the coldest forecast value of the day, precipitation is the total over the day, and wind is the strongest forecast mean wind. The weather symbol describes the daytime hours.
The first day is today and only covers the remaining hours. Days labelled as averages do not come from the forecast but from readings taken in past years.

## Why the forecast for Mallorca ends after 9 to 10 days

The forecast comes from the Norwegian weather service MET Norway. According to its own description, its Locationforecast service provides forecasts for the next nine days. Together with today, that makes up to ten calendar days in the table.
For places outside northern Europe, which includes Mallorca, MET Norway says in its documentation that it uses the global model of the European centre ECMWF with a resolution of around 9 km. For the first days there are values for every hour, after that in steps of six hours.
Beyond that period the service provides no values. This page does not fill the gap with estimates of its own.

## Why 14 and 16 days ahead are so uncertain

A weather forecast calculates forward from the current state of the atmosphere. Small inaccuracies at the start grow with every day that is calculated. For tomorrow they hardly matter, for the tenth day they matter a lot.
A precise temperature figure with a rain symbol for day 14 or day 16 looks exact, but it is not. That is why this page deliberately shows no forecast for those days. It is more honest to look at what was usual on that date in past years.

## What the average values for days 11 to 16 tell you

For each calendar day, the daily values for the years 2011 to 2025 at the Palma Puerto station are averaged: the high, the low and the share of years in which at least 1 mm of rain fell on that date. These values appear for days 11 to 16 and are labelled as averages.
An average over 15 years fluctuates from day to day, because individual warm or wet years show through. It works as an order of magnitude. It cannot tell you whether it will rain on your travel day.

## How to plan with forecast and average

- More than 10 days ahead: Look at the month. The month pages, for example [October](https://wettermallorca.com/en/october/) or [April](https://wettermallorca.com/en/april/), show temperatures, rain days and a calendar with average values.
- 5 to 10 days ahead: The forecast shows a trend. Plan weather-dependent outings so that you can still move them.
- 1 to 3 days ahead: Now the values are at their most reliable. For boat trips and mountain hikes, a last look the evening before is worthwhile.

You will find the comparison of all months in the [climate table](https://wettermallorca.com/en/climate-table/), and the assessment by type of trip under [best time to visit](https://wettermallorca.com/en/best-time-to-visit/). The method behind the figures is explained under [Data and method](https://wettermallorca.com/en/about/).

## Frequently asked questions

### Is there a reliable 16-day weather forecast for Mallorca?

No. A forecast for Mallorca is dependable for around 9 to 10 days. For days 11 to 16, this page therefore shows average values for the years 2011 to 2025 for each date and labels them as averages, not as a forecast.

### How many days ahead can the weather in Mallorca be forecast?

The forecast for Palma shown here covers around 9 to 10 days. The MET Norway service provides values for the next nine days, and today is added to that. Reliability drops with every day, and the last days are more of a trend.

### Where does the weather forecast for Palma de Mallorca on this page come from?

From the Norwegian weather service MET Norway, Locationforecast 2.0 service. The data is under the NLOD 2.0 and CC BY 4.0 licences and can be used with attribution. For Mallorca, according to MET Norway, it is based on the global ECMWF model.

### What do days 11 to 16 show in the Mallorca weather?

They show what was usual in Palma on that calendar day in the years 2011 to 2025: average high, average low and how often it rained. That is a look at the past and says nothing about the weather on your travel day.

### Does the forecast for Palma also apply to other places in Mallorca?

Only as a guide. The forecast is calculated for one point in Palma on the coast. In the Serra de Tramuntana, inland and on the east coast, temperature, wind and rain can differ a lot on the same day.

### How up to date is the weather forecast for Mallorca on this page?

Below the table you see the time of the data as supplied by MET Norway, in Mallorca local time. What counts is always the time shown, not the moment you open the page.

### What does it mean when the forecast for Mallorca is not displayed?

Then the MET Norway service could not be reached at that moment or returned no usable data. In that case a short notice appears. The page then deliberately shows no substitute figures. Loading the page again later usually solves the problem.
